Sequential Figure & Ground

Within this project, the Gestalt theory was used in the creative process and design scheme. The principle of figure and ground was utilized to mix both letters and numbers in a smooth yet contrasting way. Throughout the ideation process, many iterations of the usage of figure and ground were drafted. The main task was conceptualizing multiple letters within each other, all while maintaining legibility. In the final draft, the word typography is mixed with numbers 1-10.

From the original to the final product, minor alterations were made. More white was incorporated in the numbers to increase contrast and to make the entire work more legible.
